❋
Accessibility
Along with weekly classes at the studio, Caitríona Irish Dance also offers after-school programs, queer céilí socials, summer camps, community céilí nights, birthday parties, and whatever else you can think of so that people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy the merriment and cultural richness of Irish dance.
✦
Empowerment
Caitríona classes promote teamwork and self-confidence through traditional group dances (céilí), creative opportunities such as improv and arts & crafts, and goal-setting. “
Welcome! I’m Irene, founder of Caitríona Irish Dance. I’ve worked professionally in education and childcare for 10 years: 2 in Chile and 8 in the US. I Irish danced competitively for over 20 years, and had the privilege of competing in fun places like Scotland, Canada, Argentina, and of course, Ireland! I am a three-time world qualifier: twice in solo dancing and once in the 16-hand figure. Dance class has always been my happy place, and I’m passionate about spreading that joy with a dance school that is inclusive, accessible, and empowering. I’ve named my school after my best friend and my biggest cheerleader: my mother Catherine (Caitríona in Irish). Thanks for stopping by!
